A rock fisherman who fell 10 metres down a cliff face at Tacking Point Lighthouse has been rescued following a delicate three hour operation.

The man is believed to have suffered multiple fractures in the fall, which occurred at around 8.30am on Monday morning.
Emergency services, including police, paramedics, SES, raced to the scene.
SES personnel winched the man to safety before he was transported to Oxley Oval where the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was waiting. It is understood the man will be stabilised before being airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle.
