The event is a fundraiser for the Camden Haven Surf Life Saving Club. Funds raised will also go towards Cystic Fibrosis research.
The King of the Mountain is at Captain Cook Bi-Centennial Drive, North Brother Mountain and kicks off at 9am.
Participants will run, jog or walk up the five kilometre course and finish at the top to experience the breathtaking view over the Camden Haven.
About 40 surf club members will volunteer on August 20 to assist competitors. There are expected to be about 400 participants in the 2017 event.
The club thanked community organisations for their support.
The event is sponsored by LJ Hooker Laurieton, Laurieton Hotel, Camden Haven Chamber of Commerce, Adrenaline Fitness and Coastal Sport and Fitness.
There are $500 prizes for the King and Queen Mountain winners of the race. The Prince and Princess Mountain winners will each receive $250.
Medallions will be given to age winners for both male and female.
There are two new competitive categories including fastest sport team and fastest group. There are also prizes on offer for the biggest team and the best dressed. A lucky door prize of $2000 is up for grabs for anyone who registered, starts and finishes the race.
Olympic boxer Shelley Watts will be the event’s MC.
The Camden Haven Surf Life Saving Club will host the presentation. There will be food, drink, entertainment and massages on offer for athletes.
Camden Haven Surf Life Saving Club and LJ Hooker Laurieton will have a pre-race registration point outside of Coles, Laurieton on Saturday, August 12.
The LJ Hooker Bear will be present to get people in the mood for the family fun atmosphere of the King of the Mountain event.
