The Comboyne Tigers defeated the Kendall Blues the last time they met, so the Blues had point to prove.
The weather was surprisingly warm for the usually chilly Comboyne which set the mood for an awesome afternoon of the two top leaders of the Hastings League.
Comboyne Tigers are always strong up on the mountain and the Blues were more than willing to take them on.
Beau Kettle, Tomati Wigman, Luke White, Brad Smith and Joel Wilkes all managed to cross over the score line once each with Alex Pearce converting four of those tries.
The final score was Kendall Blues 28 to Comboyne Tigers’ 14.
Captain coach Beau Kettle was beaming after the win.
“I am so extremely proud of the Kendall Blues boys, he said.
“They dug deep, worked hard, defended like a brick wall and never stopped attacking for the full 80 minutes of the game”.
Kettle said congratulations to Anthony Conlan on reaching his 100th game for the Kendall Blues.
Next week the Kendall Blues head to Lower Macleay to take on the Lower Macleay Magpies.
It is set to be another good game. All the Kendall Blues supporters are encouraged to come along and cheer on the boys.
