Organised by Cowarra Park Preschool, the The Two Feet and a Heartbeat event aims to raise awareness about congential heart disease in children.
“With several families in our local area being touched by congenital/childhood heart disease, including a young boy enrolled at our service we are proud to be taking steps in the right direction to raise awareness and funds for this much needed cause,” acting nominated supervisor Rebecca Coman said.
Eight babies are born every day with heart disease and sadly, four children every week lose their battle.
HeartKids offer family support and counselling.
Participants wore red which is the HeartKids colour and a minute’s silence was acknowledged for little angels lost.
All proceeds from the walk will go towards funding world class research into the causes, treatment and management of congenital/childhood heart disease and to help deliver high quality support services.
