The Zonta Club of Port Macquarie is urging women to nominate for its 2018 Young Women in Public Affairs Award.

The award recognises young aged 16 years to 19 years who demonstrate superior leadership skills and a commitment to public service and civic causes.
Zonta president Margaret Bateman said the awards also encourages these young leaders to continue their participation in public and political life.
“Zonta International is a leading global organisation of professionals empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy,” she said.
“Zonta Clubs around the world are now calling for applications.”
Mrs Bateman said nominations from the Port Macquarie-Hastings and Macleay areas close on November 30.
The locally judged winner will receive $500 from the Zonta Club of Port Macquarie Inc. Every applicant will receive a certificate.
The winning application is eligible for District (NSW/ACT) judging, then Zonta International. One District winner receives $US1000 and 10 Zonta International winners receive a further $US4000, Mrs Bateman said.
