An event is on Saturday, October 14 to help raise funds for Ovarian Cancer Australia after Camden Haven local Rosemary Stimson lost her fight on August 24.

Rosemary’s daughter Lauren said her mother was only 62-years-old when she passed away after a six year battle.
Six years ago Rosemary was overseas and suffered from severe bloating. She saw a doctor who diagnosed her with the disease.
“Raising money won’t bring her back but raising funds and awareness of this awful disease may help others,” Lauren said.
“I don’t want other women (mums, daughters, sisters, aunts and nans) to go through what my mum had to endure or their family and loved ones.”
Lauren said cancer doesn’t discriminate and strike anyone at any time.
“My mum was a beautiful, kind, gentle caring, giving woman who kept herself healthy but still got ovarian cancer.”
Lauren said she hopes the Camden Haven community can band together to support the cause.
“I hope one day we’ll be able to raise enough funds to help find a cure for this disease and all other cancers.”
Lauren said women should regularly consult their doctor about any health issues they might have.
“No matter how small they may think it is,” she said.
The most common symptoms for ovarian cancer are abdominal pain, bloating and frequent urination.
People are invited to attend the North Haven Community Hall on Saturday, October 14 from 10am until 2pm.
There will be a sausage sizzle, tea, coffee, cake, raffles, face painting and other activities on the day.
