The existing terminal building is more than 23 years old. 

With passenger numbers doubling in the last 10 years it is great to see the standard of facilities being improved so we can provide an airport experience consistent with other regional airports, and support our standing as a tourist destination of choice.

The upgrade will double the existing floor space, increase our service capability and provide a more contemporary, comfortable and efficient facility for passengers and other airport visitors.

Council have worked closely with both state and federal government in securing funding for the upgrade, and look forward to the finished product being delivered by the end of the 2018/2019 financial year.

National Water Week

Water is our most precious natural resource, and as a community we are so lucky to have such a reliable, clean water supply.

National Water Week is next week, and is a great reminder for us all to think about how we use water, and the water saving measures we have in place around our homes.

As part of Council’s ongoing commitment to water education, we’re offering FREE activities next week that you might like to be involved in.

These include a Catchment to Tap Water Tour on Thursday, October 19, where you can take a fascinating behind the scenes tour of our water facilities.

Water Stories at the Library is a fun way for preschool aged children to learn about water, and they will even meet ‘Whizzy the Waterdrop’. These story time sessions will be held between Monday, October 16, and Wednesday, October 18.
