Together with friends at Ocean Club Resort they collected an incredible 62 Woolworths sticker books to help local children with disabilities.
“To get that many stickers required an incredible $37,200 worth of shopping. We’re delighted the Lake Cathie community has helped us earn so many stickers through Woolworths Earn and Learn,” Beth Todd, Director Early Connections Port Macquarie/Hastings, said.
“The stickers will be used to purchase developmental games and sensory learning equipment for our new locations.”
The stickers were presented to Early Connections Port Macquarie/Hastings who have recently opened a brand new therapy space behind the Hope Shop at Lake Cathie.
The new Lake Cathie therapy space is open to families for speech therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and child psychology. All services are supported by a key worker and team of early childhood teachers.
With the introduction of the National Disability Insurance Scheme Early Connections offer more services and a growing team of professionals to families in the Port Macquarie Hastings region.
Early Connections now have four locations for early childhood intervention including Lake Cathie, Wauchope and two locations in Port Macquarie.
“The new locations will complement the early childhood services we’ve offered families from our Munster Street location for 35 years, we’re excited to offer more flexibility to children and families in our region. Access to Early Intervention is crucial to support development in the early years,” Mrs Todd said.
A presentation to thank the ladies was held at Lake Cathie Bowling Club on Tuesday October 10 with Early Connections staff and families.
The Lake Cathie Early Connections is located at 1-3/1661 Ocean Drive, Lake Cathie, opposite the lake and behind the Hope Shop.
