Club assistant manager Shane Globits said the day was one way the club was giving back to the community.
“Club North Haven is celebrating the opening of the first stage of our multi-million dollar renovations on Sunday November 5,” he said.
“This is a free family fun day and is on from 10am until 2pm.
“There will be plenty of activities, particularly for the kids to do, with free face painting, jumping castles, a fantastic 25 metre inflatable obstacle course, live music, putt putt mini golf and plenty more.”
Mr Globits said the day was also about being an information day where members and visitors can find out about all the great sub-clubs and community groups that the club supports.
“These include the Allstars Dance Studio and Laurieton Karate who will both be performing and demonstrating their skills on the day, Camden Haven Surf Life Saving Club, lawn bowls, golf, fishing, line dancing, rock and roll dancing, and Tai Chi," he added.
Mr Globits said the club would also be hosting regular Sunday raffles, coffee and cake deals and more ‘fantastic entertainment with local band Gotcha Covered’ playing through until 9.30pm.
The club’s renovations are continuing with work focusing on the eastern side of the club.
A new TAB sports bar section, coffee station, alfresco gaming, new amenities, bowling office, locker rooms and multi-purpose function area will feature.
The works are in line with the club philosophy of keeping pace with the proposed growth of the area with some 4000 new residences expected to be built over the next decade.
One of the benefits the club is experiencing with the current renovations is a change in membership statistics.
Over the last four years, the average age of members is continuing to lower with members’ average age now between 45 years and 70 years of age.
