Members of the local community were invited to contribute as part of a Think Tank Team which aimed to share ideas and shape future of the foreshore.
The input received from the think tank, postcard survey campaign, council’s website and other community feedback will now be developed into a draft master plan.
The plan will be launched at an upcoming Family Fun Day at the Lake Cathie Foreshore on Saturday, November 18.
“Holding community think tank sessions allows people to get involved, have their say and take part in building the future of our vibrant places and facilities,” said acting director Dan Croft.
“The input and ideas put forward by locals so far has been outstanding.
“In addition to those who put their hand up for the Think Tank, over 400 residents gave council feedback on what they’d like to see for the future of the Lake Cathie Foreshore.
“Council can now use the visions and input from the community to develop a draft master plan, and that’s really exciting for the future of Lake Cathie and our growing region.”
The community is invited to the Family Fun Day at the Lake Cathie Foreshore from 10am until 2pm on November 18. People will have the opportunity to ask council staff questions and give feedback on the draft plan.
The day will also include live music, face painting for the kids and a barbecue lunch hosted by the Lake Cathie Lions Club.
“Council thanks the Lake Cathie Progress Association, Lake Cathie Lions Club, school students and local families for their input so far,” Mr Croft said.
“We look forward to seeing everyone at the fun day in a few weeks.”
