Lifeline in Cameron Street turns the donated t-shirts is cannot sell into bags for customers, replacing plastic bags. It also means they don’t have to go in the rag bag or to landfill.
“Our volunteers wash, cut and sew the bags. And we have a sale on T-shirts that are too good to be made into bags - $3 each or 2 for $5,” said Adrienne Van Spanje.
“There are some lovely, colourful t-shirt bags for sale too. They make great shoppers, library bags, and wraps for presents.”
Lifeline also need more volunteers in Wauchope, particularly men who can lift heavy items like furniture, and make deliveries and help out with some of the heavier work.
