Owners Tom Hembling, Shane Fisher and Destiny Hobman said the win came as a surprise. 

“It’s good to get a bit of recognition for all the hard work that we’ve been putting in,” Tom said. 

Tom is also a chef at the restaurant which has been open since December, 2016. 

The restaurant uses authentic Italian ingredients. 

“We make everything in house,” Tom said.

“Anything that we can’t make we source directly from Italy.” 

To make a quality pizza Tom said it is essential to have great ingredients, dough and sauce.

“Less is best when you work with good produce,” he said.  

Mr Fisher said the restaurant is open at nighttime and fairy lights outside help to create a relaxed atmosphere. 

“As soon as that sun goes down it’s a whole other world in here,” he said. 

Mr Fisher said the dining experience is similar to the vibe of popular Melbourne restaurants.

“It doesn’t really feel like you’re in Laurieton,” he said. 

The owners said they love to receive feedback from items on the menu. They thanked their loyal staff and customers.
