THE Wauchope Warriors clashed with the Phoenix and Enduro took on the Diamonds at Findlay Park in the Camden Haven/Port Macquarie Softball Association competition.

Wauchope made a great attempt to slow Phoenix’s run tally with Shayne Radoll taking two catches at short stop. Her team mates, Tania Rabbit and Narina McNeil, backed up play with more outs.

Phoenix scored three runs in the first innings to Warriors one. Stephanie Mattherson batted well for Phoenix with a powerful line drive. Chantelle Seears, Jenny Clarke and Naomi Boyd kept pushing their team ahead with strong batting.

It wasn’t until the fifth innings that Phoenix sealed the game by scoring seven runs across the home plate. Warriors played well but Phoenix proved to strong on the day, winning 12-2.

The 3pm game saw the Diamonds take on Enduro in a tight, low scoring contest.

Diamonds pitcher, Michelle Nohotima, controlled the batting from the mound. In the third innings only two runs made the difference.

A fluctuating score through the game proved exciting play for all. The game changed when Enduro put their fast pitcher into play.

Kathleen Artcher, Diamonds short stop, handled the speed, having a safe hit to the outfield. Kylie King and Charlotte Wilton showed great fielding for Enduro, which took them onto a hard fought 6-5 win.
