November 25 is White Ribbon Day, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and I urge you to show your support for victims of domestic and family violence by attending the upcoming White Ribbon Coastal Walk.
The White Ribbon Coastal Walk is a free community event that will take place on Sunday, November 26, where you can show your support by walking from either Lighthouse Beach, Flynns Beach or the Town Beach Kiosk to the Town Green in Port Macquarie.
A free bus service will depart from Town Green at 7.30am taking people to Lighthouse Beach for anyone wishing to tackle the full 9km walk, with a second bus departing at 8.30am taking people to Flynns Beach, for the shorter stroll.
I encourage everyone to wear a white t-shirt and get down to any of the three locations this Sunday, morning to help to raise awareness of this extremely important community issue.

Lake Cathie Family Fun Day postponed
Unfortunately, mother nature didn’t feel like playing last weekend, so as a result the Lake Cathie Family Fun Day had to be postponed.
However, the show must go on and the Fun Day will still go ahead this Saturday, November 25, from 10am.
The day will run as previously planned and include face painting, live music, kids games, a free sausage sizzle and the opportunity to chat with Council staff on the draft Lake Cathie Foreshore Master Plan.
The plan has been designed from feedback and ideas received from the local community at a recent ‘think tank’ session. So why not head down to the Lake Cathie foreshore, enjoy a great day out at the lake and provide much needed feedback on the future vision for the beloved foreshore.
