Volunteers including Benjamin Clarke and Carly Bullard were at the Laurieton United Services Club on November 22 to wash people’s items who would otherwise not have access to laundry facilities.
Carly said a lot of people wouldn’t realise just how many people need help in the community.
“I think a lot of people tend to take for granted having access to the essentials such as having clean clothes,” she said.
Benjamin said volunteering with Orange Sky Laundry was a great way to connect with the community.
“It’s something which is close to my heart,” he said.
Orange Sky Laundry works in association with Camden Haven Community @ 3.
Every Wednesday at 4pm volunteers meet at the Laurieton United Services Club to put on a barbecue for people doing it tough in the community.
The group is a registered charity and helps the homeless, lonely and disadvantaged in the area connect to services.
