Madelaine Goodridge set a Provisional New South Wales Multi Class record in the S7 class for the 50 metre breaststroke race.
Madelaine’s parents were at the event and Kate, her mother said it was fantastic to watch the swimmers achieve highly over the two day event.
“Madelaine’s dad gave her a bit of an incentive to break the record, so he had to hand over the money once she broke the previous record,” she said.
Eleven-year-old Bailey Whitton placed third in the multi age 50 metre butterfly, second in the 200 metre multi age backstroke, first in the 50 metre multi age freestyle, third in the 200 metre multi age IM, second in the 100 metre multi age butterfly event and second in the 200 metre multi age breastroke race.
Sisters Claire and Sarah McIntosh also achieved highly in their events.
Sarah came second in the 50 metre multi class backstroke race, third for the 50 metre multi class breaststroke, second in the 100 metre multi class freestyle, second in 50 metre multi class freestyle and second in the 50 metre multi class butterfly.
Claire came third in the 50 metre multi class butterfly, third in the 50 metre multi class freestyle and third in the 100 metre multi class freestyle.
A spokesperson from the event said participants were eager to compete to meet the criteria for the Area Development membership for next year.
“A great weekend of competition,” she said.
“Thanks must go to the hard working officials who ran these Championships.”
