Cook headed to Campbelltown last weekend to trial for the side.

After day one of the trials were washed out, he felt his chance at another representative side was floating away.

Instead, the teenager dusted himself off and impressed those that counted with a strong performance on day two.

“When I got there I had a pretty good attitude, but the first day got rained out and I lost a bit of belief that I was going to get in,” he said.

“Then I played alright on the second day and had a feeling that I did my best which was going to hopefully be good enough to get in the team.

“I was pretty excited to have the opportunity to try out and was lucky enough to get into the team.”

Previously, Cook has been selected in the North Coast side and selection in the All-Schools team is another step on the path to a baggy green.

He hopes to follow in the footsteps of Adelaide Strikers top-order batsman Travis Head.

“I want to keep going as far as I can go; I’d love to play in the Big Bash for the Strikers, I like Travis Head, he bowls offies,” he said.

“I made North Coast before, but the NSW one is courtesy of how hard I’ve worked all year and put in a lot of training.

“It’s every cricketers dream to wear the baggy green and I’ll keep trying to perform in the Premier League.”
