“We both went for an ultrasound, to find out we were both due on the same day in November. The sonographer couldn’t believe it and had to double-check,” said Ebony-Rose.
“Anyway, months went on, comparing bellies and cravings. It was the morning of November 3 when I stood up out of bed and my waters broke. I was just over 38 weeks, so 12 days early.
“Off to Port Base hospital I went, and a couple of hours later, my sister, Keely came in with pains. They sent her home while I was in labour about to have a baby. I had a beautiful baby boy at 3.29pm. My sister soon was back in hospital that night in labour.
“She had her beautiful baby girl at 9.09am on November 4. So not only were we due on the same day, but we both went 12 days early, and had our babies not even 24 hours apart. I think this is incredible, and such an amazing thing that I got to share with my beautiful sister and best friend,” said Ebony-Rose, who named her son Korbin.
Keely, who named her daughter Amarah-Rose, says she and her sister and their babies see each other nearly every day.
“Korbin and Amarah-Rose have already had new-born photos and photos with Santa taken together,” she said.
The sisters and their families are now looking forward to Christmas with their two special little bundles of joy, who are more like siblings than first cousins.
