“We call it a camp, but it is basically five days of arts activities from 9am-3pm each day here in Port Macquarie, but we have students come from all over the Hastings.
“We run dance, music, drama and performance workshops where they explore new things and learn about themselves in a new way,” Ms Pelly said.
An art teacher by trade, Ms Pelly got together with some friends and found a lack of creative things kids could do during the holidays.
“One week every holidays we run these camps, and have been since 2014. Usually we get between 60-80 kids over the week come and participate.
“During our January camp this time around, students will learn all about characterisation, making sculptures with recycled materials and then building a personality for their creation before acting it out on the stage.”
