Local businesses are encouraged to apply to the International Wine Tourism Competitive Grants program and work together to develop unique and innovative wine tourism experiences throughout the region.
Federal Member for Lyne, Dr David Gillespie said Australia’s wine industry is transforming its marketing efforts and this presents opportunities for local businesses.
“These grants will help fund wine tourism marketing campaigns, wine events, infrastructure and innovative products to attract international tourists to the Mid-North Coast and Hunter wine regions,” Dr Gillespie said.
“Locally, we know the value of giving tourists a great time and providing a first-hand experience into how we make and enjoy our wine and food.
“Our wine region has a great story to tell and we want to tell it to the increasing number of international visitors who are making the trip to Australian shores to enjoy our region’s wines.
“There is also the $5 million International Wine Tourism State Grants, which will provide the NSW wine association with funding to invest in international wine tourism research, planning and implementation activities.
"Together, these grants enhance the wine tourism experiences of international visitors—helping grow wine exports and further strengthening the reputation of our region’s wines on the international stage.”
The grants are administered by Wine Australia. For more information on how to apply, visit erwsp.wineaustralia.com.
