January 6 and 7 will bring temperatures of 30 and 32 degrees respectively, according to Weatherzone meteorologist Graeme Brittain.
“There will be sunny conditions throughout the weekend and those conditions will continue into Monday,” he said.
“Late Monday to early Tuesday we are likely to see showers developing from the south, but humidity will increase on the weekend, particularly in the early part of next week.”
A spring tide, colloquially known as a king tide, results from the position of the moon and the sun and recently caused water ways to rapidly rise.
“The moon is the main mover of tides. When it’s closer, we get stronger variations in tides meaning higher high tides and lower low tides,” Mr Brittain said.
“We had a super moon recently, and that has an impact on the tides on earth. When the sun and moon align that is when you get spring tides.”
As of 10am, January 5, tides were 1.96m in Port Macquarie, slightly increasing before decreasing into the afternoon.
