As the temperature rises, holiday makers should be making the most of what remains of their summer holidays by heading to the beach, and lifeguards say conditions are next to perfect.

Port Macquarie head lifeguard James Turnham said beaches are looking great.
“After last week, the conditions at the moment are near perfect, the water is warming but it is great weather to head to your local patrolled beach and cool off in the surf,” Mr Turnham said.
Weatherzone meteorologist Jacob Cronje said residents can expect to feel temperatures in the high 20s and low 30s for the remainder of the week.
“Generally this week, conditions will be warm and dry, with day time temperatures between 29-31 degrees every day,” Mr Cronje said.
“There is the potential for thunderstorms on Thursday which may cause a few showers on either Thursday or Friday, and the expected cloud cover on those day will make for fairly humid conditions.”
Mr Cronje said that temperatures are currently above average for this time of year, and there is no relief in the near future.
“We are certainly seeing above average temperatures for this time of year, 2-3 degrees warmer during the day and up to 3 degrees warmer at nights but this above average temperatures should be here for at least the next fortnight.”
