The festival will run from February 22 until February 25 and will conclude with a spectacular string concert on Sunday, February 25 at 2pm.
Kendall Op Shop donated funds towards the festival which will feature workshops and classes for players of guitar, cello, violin and viola. Musicians will be given the opportunity to play in a string orchestra.
Workshop participation is open to any string players who want to improve their playing and to be part of a performing ensemble.
The festival builds on the success of two enthusiastically received community string projects in 2016 and 2017 in Kendall which were also supported by the Kendall Op Shop.
The concert is on Sunday, February 25 at 2pm and features international Guitarist Giuseppe Zangari, Kendall Violin Competition director Goetz Richter, Australian Violin expert Fintan Murphy and star musicians from the Sydney Conservatorium.
Admission for the concert is $20 and children $10.
