It had a strong chemical smell, was sticky to the touch and spread for about 80 metres along the shoreline.
I imagine it was either accidentally spilled, or deliberately dumped by a passing vessel.
Surprisingly wave action had cleared it away by the following afternoon and people were happily swimming in that area, oblivious to what had been there just 24 hours before.
This makes me wonder just how much waste our oceans are expected to absorb before sea life and ultimately humans are impacted.
