The Australian Championships will be on in Perth from March 21 until March 24.
Coach Mick Eggins said organisers of the Australian Championships accept all state gold medalists and only the silver medalists they believe will make a big impact at the national titles.
“Jackson was a definite inclusion,” he said.
On Saturday, February 24 the 17-year-old took on and defeated 18-year-old Malcolm Mathes at the Singleton Civic Centre.
Jackson is a heavy weight and weighed 87 kilograms at the fight night, while Malcolm weighed 89 kilograms.
“Malcolm beat Jackson in their last fight by a split points decision,” Camden Haven Boxing Team coach Mick Eggins said.
“Jackson won this fight (on February 24) unanimously and even knocking Malcolm to the canvas in round two.”
Jackson had the year off in 2017 but was state champion in 2015 and 2016.
