Residents have been lucky enough to capture a lot of them through photography. 

Dolphins, sharks, turtles, kangaroos, owls and deers are some of the animals which have been photographed. 

Rachel Evans shared stunning photos of a stingray, willy wagtail, the Milky Way and the moon with the Camden Haven Courier. 

Charlie Wallace said he was ecstatic after he captured a special turtle moment with his camera. 

The Lakewood resident has lived in the area for 12 years but said this is only the second time he has managed to take a photo of a turtle coming up for air. 

Lake Cathie resident Christie Rogers shared her New Year’s Day walk with a shark on the North Haven breakwall.
