Meteorologist with weatherzone Graeme Brittain says that cooling change will mark the start of at least four or five days of showers, bordering on thunderstorms for the Port Macquarie-Hastings.
The showers and cooler conditions are due to a change in wind direction which is directing moisture onto the coastline. This wind change is joined by a trough that will help bring showers to much of the eastern seaboard.
While we should see a continuation of the warm nights on Monday, Mr Brittain said Tuesday's maximum temperature will be in the high 20s.
"From Tuesday afternoon, we can expect the temperature to begin to drop with showers along with possible thunderstorms," he said.
"Those showers will be mainly along the coastline while inland parts could see heavier falls.

"Wednesday's maximum temperature will be 26 degrees however, showers - heavy at times - are very likely.
"There could also be possible thunderstorms in the mix as well."
Mr Brittain said up to 50mm of rainfall is likely on Wednesday with similarly heavy falls also predicted for Thursday.
"The maximum temperature on Thursday is 24 degrees," he said.
The cooler conditions will see minimum temperatures dropping to a very comfortable 17 degres from Thusday.
The wet weather may continue into Saturday with Sunday to reach a top temperature of 28 degrees. "It will be 28 degrees and warm and dry on Sunday," Mr Brittain added.
Large surf is expected to dominate the coastline from Thursday and possibly through to the weekend.
