Dave is part of Rhythm Revue which is a not-for-profit amateur performance body that has been providing entertainment to regional residents of nursing homes and retirement villages for over six years.
Dave said it is rewarding to see how their performances can light up the faces of people they visit.
“Some people are so lonely and they are starved for some kind of interaction,” he said.
Dave said the members of the group will go and shake the hands of residents and hug them.
Member Margaret Russell puts together the choreography for the group. At the moment they have been practicing pieces from the Chicago musical.
As a long standing not-for-profit group the group depends on government funding and donations so they can purchase sound equipment, material for costumes, music rights and to cover operating expenses.
The group is always open to new members.
Rhythm Revue members rehearse on Monday from 3.45pm until 6.15pm at North Haven Public School.
