Andrew James Pyke, 43, of Beechwood has been sentenced to two months imprisonment after he used a phone in court to take a photo of the Magistrate and sent it to a person outside of the location.

Pyke appeared in Port Macquarie Local Court on Tuesday, March 13 in front of Magistrate Price for a charge of using a recording device in a court premises and a charge of transmit sounds, images to a person outside of court.
Court facts said between 3pm and 3.30pm on January 24 Pyke did transmit an image of court proceedings from within the Port Macquarie Local Court to another person via a carriage device.
The facts said when Pyke was arrested by police in relation to another matter his phone was seized.
Police located a photograph which was taken by Pyke on January 24 of court proceedings.
Facts said the photo was of Her Honour presiding over the court matters. It was taken on an angle to suggest it was taken in a covert manner.
Facts said this photo was then transmitted via text message to another person with numerous texts stating ‘going back to court’, ‘f*** court then’ and ‘at court’.
For both charges Pyke was sentenced to two months imprisonment with a start date of February 8. He is eligible for release on these charges on April 7.
