The plan will include a range of actions to be implemented over the next three years that will help build a more connected, inclusive and liveable community.
To help develop the plan, council is inviting the local community to get involved and share their thoughts on what an inclusive community may look like to you.
Council group manager Lucilla Marshall said there has been lots of great ideas shared already, and council is inviting more residents to have your say.
“It’s important we recognise and embrace the diversity that exists, particularly as our population grows,” Ms Marshall said.
“Ensuring all people, from youth and seniors to those from culturally diverse backgrounds have a voice, is extremely important.”
Pop-up sessions are being held during Youth Week and National Reconciliation Week and seniors were invited to give their ideas at last week’s Seniors Expo.
A Community Think Tank will also take place on Thursday, May 17 from 10am to 11.30am at the Glasshouse Port Macquarie.
“The suggestions we received at last week’s Seniors Expo were fantastic, and we’re really looking forward to more great ideas being shared by our local community over the coming weeks,” added Ms Marshall.
Opportunity to share ideas on council’s Community Inclusion Plan are available until May 28.
