The occasion brought people together to spend time in the garden on April 21.
They brought rugs and picnics too.
The day’s program included a pizza making competition, garden tour and workshop on crop rotation.
The Lost Plot Community Garden treasurer Robyn Payne said the garden created a sense of belonging.
“There is a bond that grows like a network of friends,” she said.
“I think it’s a wonderful place to come, if you have just come to the area, to make friends.”
Chris Harris, Drury Woolnough and Will Edwards judged the pizza making competition.
The judges say a good crust, evenly distributed toppings and good cheese are essential ingredients of the good pizza.
They judged the pizzas on appearance, aroma, the crust and taste.
The Lost Plot Community Garden is a constantly evolving community space open to anyone regardless of age and ability.
You don’t have to be a gardener to become a member.
The garden off Central Road opened four years ago.
Volunteers through the Port Macquarie Community Gardens manage the community garden.
