There were three main topics which were discussed.
This included the alleged sewerage spill from Saltwater Creek on Rainbow Beach on December 26, 2017 and the development application for lot 2 Beach Street Bonny Hills.
The impact of the development on Saltwater Creek, the current sewerage system and the environment was discussed.
Also on the agenda was a reported incident at the exterior showers at Rainbow Beach and whether the community would be better served by an open ended screen.
The meeting was well attended and I would like to thank those who attended and voiced their concerns.
The community would like to thank Council mayor Peta Pinson, director of infrastructure Alex Fisher and engineer Clayton Michel, who is in charge of Bonny Hill’s sewerage plant.
We would also thank the Local Member for Port Macquarie Leslie Williams, Lyne MP David Gillespie’s representative Brendan Seed and councillors Lee Dixon, Peter Alley with Sharon Griffiths for taking time out of their busy schedules.
The community looks forward to working with council and awaits council’s reply and corrective plans for the matters tabled.
