Do you own a European vehicle? Ryan Squires, part owner of Laurieton Motors Mechanical shares some invaluable insight.
From a customer perspective, the experience of driving and owning a vehicle manufactured in 2000 is miles apart from those coming off today’s production lines.
The latest vehicles deliver a wide range of benefits, including increased vehicle safety and security, more efficient drive trains, navigation support, interactive and integrated communications and entertainment systems, active stability control and much more.
From a technicians perspective, these new technologies present a number of challenges, including:
- Access to specialist tools
- Access to technical information including bulletins and known problems/fixes
- Access to wiring diagrams
Laurieton Motors Mechanical has made sure to keep up to date with the latest diagnostic equipment, training and tools.
“We have the latest information at hand with Autodata which gives us access to wiring diagrams, repair procedures, OEM (original equipment manufacturers) technical information including Bulletins and known fixes and also phone support for those tricky one-off trouble jobs.”
“We also have the latest updates with our scan tool to access all makes and models, we have also established accounts with European specialist suppliers which gives us a great edge over dealerships when it comes to the bottom dollar for our customers.
Laurieton Motors Mechanical provides servicing to all makes and models using the latest diagnostic and workshop equipment.
“Just recently for example we had a customer with an Audi A8 were a suspension component had failed, the OEM price was just over $6,000 just for the part and we were able to source an equivalent German made part for half the price fitted.
“Over the past years, we have noticed more and more European vehicles coming to our workshop, which we have had to invest in speciality tools and training to keep up with the demand.
“We offer logbook servicing to all makes and models which does not affect or void manufactures warranty and believe we offer a quality service at the right price.
