Beach to Beach Riverwalk Camden Haven committee president Penny Small said the path will be created between Scarborough Way and Seaview Avenue.
Property owners and residents directly impacted by the works have been contacted by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council staff, prior to the commencement of construction.
Mrs Small said the committee was grateful that state and local funding was being used to create the important resource for the community.

Once the entire pathway is completed, Mrs Small said it will provide increased safety of movement for pedestrians and cyclists.
Ultimately the committee’s goal is for the shared walk-cycle way from Dunbogan to North Haven to create a crucial accessible pathway for locals and visitors to get out and actively explore the Camden Haven River foreshore.
Mrs Small said the path section between Scarborough Way and Seaview Avenue is not as hazardous as some other sections of the pathway which have been highlighted.
“However it is the only section that we are currently able to provide pathway on,” she said.
The committee will conduct four volunteer working bees on the path section over the next four to eight weeks, to help reduce costs.
Over the next 18 months Port Macquarie-Hastings Council staff will work on creating a strategic plan, due to the extensive environmental and heritage factors impacting other sections of the pathway.
Mrs Small thanked the community for its ongoing support.
