Tunstead posted the comment in the early hours of the morning four weeks ago on the Mid North Coast Rugby Union Facebook page.
It was deleted an hour later.
As a consequence, Tunstead was banned for 12 games by the zone although he appealed the severity of the ban last week.
The appeal fell on deaf ears as it was allegedly against the zone’s by-laws.
Now the case is being heard at an Australian Rugby Union disciplinary hearing.
Should Tunstead’s secondary appeal fail, the 12-match ban will stand although he will be allowed to play the final two games of the season.
He will, however, be unable to play semi-finals or a grand final should the Vikings progress that far as the qualification for finals is three matches.
Mid North Coast Rugby Union did not want to comment when contacted by the Port News about what was said.
