With John Morrison and the Australian Institute of Music Youth Orchestra warming up the crowd, the Port Macquarie-Hastings’ own The Hatchlings took to the Glasshouse forecourt stage for the official launch.
Friday night also saw a number of featured artists.
The night wrapped up with a Big Band Jam session run by legendary big band arranger Ed Wilson.
Over 600 musicians featured in almost 40 bands are in town for what is, essentially, a convention for musicians.
This year’s line-up features several world-class musicians.
Viva Las Vegas is the special Saturday night concert held at Panthers Auditorium from 7.30pm. The night features performances by special guests joined by singers Gregg Arthur and Jacki Cooper backed by Judy Bailey's Jazz Connection.
Doors open at 7pm and tickets are available from Panthers for $20.
Bandemonium continues on Sunday June 3 on the Port Macquarie Town Green with a crazy, colourful street parade. Wear a crazy hat and bring something to blow or bang and join in the fun.
The parade is from 9am until 10am.
