The NDIS Full Scheme Agreement sets out the ongoing governance and financial arrangements for the NDIS in NSW, providing clarity and certainty for people with disability.
We’ve been in the transition phase as we implement the NDIS and now NSW has become the first state to reach a long-term agreement with the Commonwealth.
The NDIS represents a doubling of funding for disability services and next year the Commonwealth and NSW governments will commit more than $6 billion to the NDIS.
We can be proud of this agreement. The NDIS gives people with disability choice and control over the supports they receive, helps them to achieve their goals and to better participate in the community. More than 84,000 people already benefit from the NDIS in NSW.
More information about the rollout of the NDIS in NSW and access requirements is at ndis.nsw.gov.au or call my office on 6584 0977.
Community Grants
A reminder to non profit groups there is just over a week to apply for a Community Building Partnership grant to deliver projects with social, environmental and recreational outcomes.
Local sports clubs, charities, men’s sheds and Scouts or Girl Guides are just some of the groups that benefit from this program.
This grants program offers $330,000 to be shared across the Port Macquarie electorate.
It is a great opportunity to get the support your community group needs to make real improvements where we meet, train or recreate.
Applications close at 5pm, next Friday, June 15. Applicants must read the program guidelines to ensure their club or organisation and proposed project are eligible.
For more information about the program please contact my office on 6584 0977 or visit: nsw.gov.au/cbp
