You may remember the Courier featured Lisle Crossing, a regular to TLC Gentle Exercise Class, a few months ago.
We caught up with Program creator and exercise Guru Tim Thomas, who was delighted to report that it encouraged many new people to join the class and they are making some great progress.
Tim explains that the emphasis of the classes is on balance and mobility.
“Keeping people confident on their feet is the most important aim. Being confident changing direction, stepping onto uneven surfaces, even the little things can make a big difference.

Of course there is the social aspect, Tim muses he has created a coffee club that also exercises. Not that he is concerned, he says it’s all about “fun, fitness and friendship”.
“This class on its own probably won’t have you winning any races but the mobility, the emphasis on balance and functional movement should keep the engine ticking over nicely.”
The important things is to keep up the good work, Tim says, even in the winter months, and you’ll start to see steady progress.
Due to popular demand, Tim is now putting on more classes. You can now join him every Tuesday or Thursday at 10.30am at LUSC.
