The Mid North Coast branch consists of clubs as far south as the Camden Haven and as far north as Macksville/Scotts Head.
Camden Haven SLSC president Michelle Garvan said she was extremely proud of the members of the small club, who put in so much time and dedication to help others in the community.
The club won the award for Initiative Of The Year for helping to raise community awareness on rips through the presentation by Dr Rip.
The Administrator Of The Year award was received by Neil Hosick for his work in securing grants for the club.
A new branch award was named after life member John Vipond and went to Stella Moore as Young Volunteer of the Year.
Alisha Cooper received the Young Lifesaver of the Year award.
Volunteer of the year award went to Ben Hosick, for his efforts in organising events on behalf of the club.
The Surf Lifesaver of the Year award went to Tony Worton.
The Camden Haven Surf Life Saving Club received the Club of the Year award.
It is the second year the club has won the award, which Michelle said is very rare.
Out of the top eight women patrolling members from the branch, six were from the Camden Haven. Of the top eight patrolling male members from the branch, three were locals.
Michelle said it goes to show just how passionate members are about surf life saving.
“As we’re such a small club our members have to do about 80 hours to get 100 per cent patrol attendance,” she said.
“For other clubs it’s usually only 40 hours.”
Michelle paid tribute to the support of the members and their families.
“They have to cope with loved ones being at the beach for many hours during our season,” she said.
Michelle said without their support, the club would not be able to look after this community in the way it does.
