The incident happened at about 12pm on Wednesday, July 4 on the corner of Diamond Head Road and The Boulvarde. No one was injured and emergency services did not attend.
Beach to Beach Riverwalk Camden Haven committee president Penny Small said it’s a section of road which is planned for an upgrade and would include bollards on the side of the road.
The section of pathway, which is known as D1, is currently in the design stages. The committee has been working closely with the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council to move forward on the project.
Penny said once the upgrade has been done, it will make the area a lot safer for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.
She said the D1 project is a temporary solution to address safety concerns. There are thousands of vehicles which utilise the Dunbogan bridge each day.
The Beach to Beach Riverwalk Camden Haven committee has applied for funding through council for a state government grant.
Penny said she hopes the grant will be successful to provide a proper upgrade, and more permanent solution to enhance safety in the location.
