It was reported in the Courier in July, 1989 plans for a cycle/walkway around the foreshore of the Camden Haven River was in progress.
A public meeting had been organised to form a bicycle/walkway association.
“The original proposal for a walkway was put forward by local tourist bus operator Wayne Twomey,” it was reported.
“Later the Laurieton Public School P&C Association expanded on the idea to include a bicycle track.
The article stated the construction of the bicycle.walkway would offer both riders and pedestrians of all ages even greater access to the beautiful waterways of the Camden Haven.
