I am writing at my disappointment in the pervasive attitude developing in this area in regards to large trees, particularly natives.

Recently this week a premises (with the permission of council) has cut down nine large native trees, along with over eight palms.
When questioned as to why so many were being cut down, they replied that these trees (and others apparently to follow) all needed to be ‘maintained or cut down’, so were being cut down.
I am disappointed that no value is being placed in maintaining these trees that provide so much to the area and cannot simply be replaced.
These trees provide shade, atmosphere but more importantly habitat to local wildlife.
These trees help create the environment which is the reason people live in this beautiful spot in the first place.
