Members from Laurieton Swimming Club have made the community proud, after their exceptional performances at the NSW Country Championships.

The event takes in swimmers from all over the state with the exception of the Sydney Metropolitan Area. It was at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre on July 7 and 8.
The top three Swimming North Coast clubs for the club point score were Forster which came 13th, Trinity Lismore in 22nd place and Laurieton which came 27th.
Eight swimmers from these clubs competed in the Australian Age Championships in Sydney earlier in 2018.
At the NSW Country Championship 25 medals were won and there were 77 top ten placings.
Taylor Corry swam for Trinity Lismore and is a paralympian from London. Taylor was the most outstanding swimmer from Swimming North Coast in the Multi Class events.
She won four gold medals in multi class events for 50 fly, 50 free, 50 back and 50 fly. She also placed in the top 10 in four able bodied events.
Another golden girl was 10-year-old Alana Bromhead from Trinity Lismore with three gold in 100 free, 100 breast and 50 fee. She also had three top ten placings.
Sarah McIntosh Multi Class Laurieton achieved bronze 50 free and 50 breast and two top tens.
Harrison Tancred Forster won gold in 100 breast and bronze for 100 free. He placed in the top 10 four times.
Coffs Harbour’s Riley Andrews got silver in 100 fly, 50 fly and bronze in 100 back and achieved three top ten placings.
Forster’s Nash Wilkes got silver in 50 breast and 100 breast.
Aidan Yourell from Lismore Workers got silver 50 back and bronze in 50 fly and 50 free for multiclass.
Forster’s Dane Jeffery achieved bronze in 200 free, 100 breast and 100 free.

Forster – Tim Pengelly 1, Eva Keen 2 and Ethan Hudson 1. Kempsey— Josie Charlton 1
Laurieton – Claire Van Kampen MC 4, Bailey Whitton 4 and Madeline Goodridge MC 1. Bailey also came 24th for 100 back.
Lismore Workers – Toby Campbell 4, Jacob Yourell 2 and Michael Bulpitt1 2.
Nambucca – Amos Colburn 1. Port Macquarie—Hayley Kable 2 and Sienna Gill 1.
Sawtell – Nicholas Greenway 1.
Stroud – Relay 1—Jeremy Edstein, Pascal and Raffaellu Fransisci and Tim Tatchell. Grace Grey 2, Robert Stanley 2 and Timn Tatchell 2.
Taree – Bevan Smith 3. Twin Towns—Liam Wilson 2.
