Kempsey 1.7 degrees.
Taree 0.1 degrees.
If you thought Monday morning was cold, you were correct.
However, you only have to look to some recent times for a colder start to a morning. On June 17 this year our temperature was recorded at 0.0 while in July last year we registered a 0.7 degree morning.
While it is a bit cold to start off, a high pressure system is providing beautiful clear blue skies with daytime temperatures up around the low 20 degree mark.
Meteorologist with weatherzone, Kim Westcott, said the average July minimum temperature is 7.5 degrees.
The colder temperature was replicated across the state and the Mid-North Coast, she said.
"It was pretty chilly stuff," the meteorologist said.
"There was a cold front that moved across the state through Friday and Saturday that carried a lot of cold air with it.
"This pool of cold air eventually moved away from the coast, but the colder minimums remained.
"I guess the good news is that Tuesday and Wednesday mornings will see minimum temperatures of 3 and 4 degrees, respectively."
Ms Westcott said daytime maximum temperatures will climb to 'a lovely and comfortable' 21 degrees.
This weather pattern will remain in place through to Thursday when a strong cold front is likely to bring windy and colder weather, she said.
"There could be possible wind warnings coming our way but it depends on how it plays out over the next few days," the meteorologist added.
