The Blues scored from the first scrum of the match inside 60 seconds after the Stingrays knocked on from the kick-off.
Stingrays coach Brett Farnsworth had barely had time to take his spot on the sideline.
“They scored after about 40 seconds,” he said.
“The week before our body language was terrible and we probably would have put our heads down.”
While the eight-point result came as a surprise to some, Farnsworth believed his side always had the ability.
“We were confident and always through that we could win,” he said.
The Stingrays now face Long Flat with the winner to progress to the Hastings League decider on August 18.
Injured Kendall captain Beau Kettle admitted his side were limping to the finish line.
“We’re really struggling with injuries,” he said.
Kettle is gone for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament and he was joined on the sideline by a handful of other regular starting first graders.
“It’s not looking good for the end of the year for us at the moment,” he said.
“We had players playing out of position, but we were just out-enthused and credit to Laurieton.”
This time last year, Kendall were building momentum towards the pointy end of the season.
“We can’t even do a proper training run at the moment because we don’t want to run the risk of more injuries,” Kettle said.
The Blues will face Lower Macleay next weekend.
