Comboyne is very proud of two of its young residents.
Brother and sister Kobey and Ave-Jaide Finlayson took $900 out of their savings accounts and donated it to buy large bales of hay to help farming families stricken by drought.
Their grandparents, Trish and Rob Sanders say Kobey and Ave-Jaide, who both attend Wauchope High School, work hard for their money, at Hurrells farm in Comboyne.
“But they didn’t hesitate to help out. As grandparents, we are extremely proud of them both,” they told the Comboyne circular.
Megan Hillard from Norco Rural in Wauchope was thrilled with their donation.
“These two amazing and selfless children saved their money and dropped into our story and donated enough money to buy 12 bales,” she said.
“On Saturday, their bales were part of the 75 which headed out to Terry Hie Hie, a very small farming town in the north of New South Wales within the Moree Plains Shire Council. Thank you both so much.”
