The school raised $2140 which is the equivalent of 107 hay bales.
A spokesperson thanked people from the school community and passer-bys who saw the sign and donated to the cause.
The school acknowledges the foundations of their institution with Saint Mary MacKillop on her feast day each year.
“This year we held a liturgy remembering the sacrifices she made in giving poorer families especially those living on farms in rural areas, a fair go at education,” the spokesperson said.
“In this spirit, we acknowledged the plight of the farmers in drought stricken New South Wales and decided to support the Buy a Bale Appeal.
“In an act of solidarity the staff and students wore farmers clothes and watched videos of real kids living and working on farming properties around the country - the hard work, sacrifice and living in faith and hope were admirable themes that the children responded to.”
The funds collected were given to the Rotary Club of Laurieton who are supporting the Burrumbuttock Hayrunners, via Laurieton Commonwealth Bank.
The CBA Laurieton is running the appeal at the bank until August 17.
“We hope you can support the livelihood of our Aussie farmers,” the school spokesperson said.
Other current appeals (for cash, food, supplies, tradies etc.) include: aussiehelpers.com.au, needforfeed.org, ruralaid.org.au, buyabale.com.au, farmrescue.com.au and droughtangels.org.au
