A hazard reduction burn in Lakewood will be rescheduled, after windy conditions forced it to be called off on Sunday, August 12.

Fire and Rescue NSW Laurieton station commander Les King said the burn might take place this weekend, weather permitting. At this stage a date has not been confirmed.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council in partnership with Fire and Rescue NSW (F&R NSW) and the Rural Fire Service (RFS) will manage the burn process.
The location is council reserve between the caravan park and Queenslake Sailing Club in Lakewood.
As a result of the hazard reduction burn, residents can expect smoke in the vicinity and some water discolouration for up to three days due to the use of hydrants and powerful water flushing.
Ocean Drive will be partially closed and traffic management will be operational during the burn to ensure the safety of motorists.
