Your attendance will support Can Too, the running group of which raised $14,593 earlier earlier this year by competing in the SMH Half Marathon. Now, 15 locals are training for the Blackmores’ 10km Bridge Run on September 16, to raise even more money. With the support of the team at the Laurieton Plaza Cinema and the help of the Disney Corporation, you can see the Christopher Robin movie before anyone else.
Tell everybody to bring friends along for what promises to be a fun night supporting a fantastic charity. Drinks and canapes will be provided from 5.30pm, followed by the screening of Christopher Robin at 6.30pm. Children will receive a free choc top. Tickets are available at ticketebo.com.au/cantoomovie or by calling 6584 0977. Tickets are limited. Adults $30, children (under-18) $25.
Short-Term Holiday Letting Policy given green light
Short-term holiday letting will have tougher but fairer regulation from 2019. The NSW Parliament passed the government’s plan, which acknowledges the huge financial contribution online booking platforms make to the NSW economy, but also takes a zero-tolerance approach to raucous guests.
The mandatory Code of Conduct will apply to online accommodation platforms, letting agents, hosts and guests across the state. Under our ‘two strikes and you’re out’ policy, hosts or guests who commit two serious breaches of the code within two years, will be banned for five years, and be listed on an exclusion register.
Amendments to the Strata Schemes Management Act are also being made so owners’ corporations can pass by-laws to ban short-term letting in their block, if the host is not present, and they get a 75 per cent majority vote.
