In 2018 the group is celebrating 20 years of craft, fun and friendship.
The exhibition is on Friday, August 31 and Saturday, September 1 from 9.30am until 3.30pm at the Uniting Church on Bold Street, Laurieton.
The theme for the event is ‘A Floral Affair’ and will feature crafts including embroidery, quilting, paper tole, card making, knitting, crocheting, flower making and mosaics.
Laurieton Haven Craft Centre president Doreen Bate said attendees will be impressed by the button challenge, mega needle knitting and other activities.
Devonshire teas will be available for purchase and can be enjoyed in a quiet setting on the back veranda. A variety of craft items will be on sale.
For the raffle Doreen said members have worked hard to fill baskets brimming with many handmade articles, beautiful quilts and other goodies.
Entry to the exhibition is via a $3 donation, with children under 12-years-old free.
Doreen said all proceeds from the show will go to Soldier On to help support service men, women and their families.
“This is a non government funded organisation and is a much needed community service,” she said.
“It is a privilege and pleasure for our group to be able to help by supporting them in this way.”
The exhibition will be officially opened at 11am by an honorary guest.
Doreen said everyone is welcome to enjoy the event.
“This is a great opportunity for the craft group to showcase its work,” she said.
Members meet each Tuesday from 9am to 2pm at the St Andrews Uniting Church in Laurieton.
New members are welcome to join.
